Gary Perkins is the founder and Principal of GP Development. Since 1989, Mr. Perkins has grown GP Development into an innovative construction company with a portfolio including contracts with state and federal buildings, Fortune 500 companies, REITS and private capital investment groups. Mr. Perkins has successfully managed, developed and constructed thousands of commercial building projects in the western United States. With a commitment to exceed client expectations, Mr. Perkins is able to offer clients a multitude of services including development services, construction management and real estate acquisition consulting.

With his hands on management style, Mr. Perkins oversees the daily management and operations of the company. Through the years, he has developed a unique integrated team approach to our projects and encourages his employees to work together to achieve success for our clients. GP Development is a company that values its resources and strives to maintain positive and successful relationships.

Mr. Perkins attended CSU Chico pursuing a degree in marketing and management. He is a licensed California Real Estate Broker and maintains General Building and Electrical licenses in California and a Commercial Building license in the State of Nevada.

Mr. Perkins is a current and active member with the Sacramento District Dental Society (SDDS) and real estate organizations ACRE and BOMA.

Mr. Perkins is a long time resident of Loomis, California and enjoys traveling with his wife and two daughters.

Dennis has been with GP Development since its inception in 1988.  As a result, Dennis has become an integral and valued team member to the company. As a Senior Project Manager, he has overseen thousands of tenant improvement projects both large and small all over California including Department of Consumer Affairs, Department of Land Management and Department of Fish and Wildlife.  Dennis is able to multitask several high level projects at once and still deliver an unparalleled customer experience to all of his clients.  Because of his longstanding position with GP, Dennis has become a leader in the company and is relied upon to offer his extensive experience to assist the superintendents and field staff.  His motivation for positive client relations and consistently delivering a finished product that exceeds expectations is what sets Dennis apart. In his personal time, he enjoys photography and woodworking.

Joshua Cerles

Project Manager

Joshua joined the GP team in 2006 as a Construction Manager. With his extensive background in electrical estimating, Joshua was able to effortlessly transition into general construction.  He received his Construction Management Degree from UC Davis in 2009. Before transitioning into the dental, medical and veterinary department, Joshua managed some of the company’s largest and most complex projects including ground up construction laboratories, modern law offices and state of the art facilities. Joshua now utilizes his 17+ years of construction experience to assist medical professionals with their office and workspace visions.  He assists his clients from the budgetary phase through final occupancy and makes every effort to ensure his clients have received the upmost positive experience.  In his free time, Joshua spends time with his wife and loves to travel.

Emily Roberts

Emily obtained her B.S. from Sacramento State University (2003) and went on to earn her J.D. from University of Nevada Las Vegas (2007). Following law school, she went on to represent GC’s and subcontractors in construction defect claims and contract disputes. In 2014, Emily brought her knowledge of construction law and contracts to GP and mainly serves GP’s clients in the preconstruction phase, including working with client’s lenders in obtaining project financing, estimating, contracts management, and project coordination.  In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling and snow sports.

Julie Atkinson

Senior Estimator

In 2007, Julie started as a Project Estimator and since gone on to be the Senior Estimator with hundreds of projects to her credit. Her previous work and life experiences has given her both an eye for detail and the big picture. Julie has become a skilled Senior Estimator and is able to multitask several projects at once while also assisting clients with value engineering, communicating with subcontractors and guiding her clients through the construction process.  She estimated and was awarded several prestigious projects including Miltenyi Biotec, RMW Architecture and DaVita Dialysis.  Julie also maintains her California Real Estate License and is active in the real estate community.  In her free time, Julie enjoys hiking, cross country skiing and time with her family.

Jamie Price

Controller

After receiving her B.S. from CSUS (2003), Jamie found her niche in construction accounting. As Controller, she oversees all of the financial and administrative affairs of the company and works hard for all our valued clients and subcontractors. She has used her previous construction managerial experience to revamp the human resources department to better serve the employees and help minimize their weekly paperwork. In her free time, you can find Jamie on the soccer and baseball fields rooting on her three little athletes.

Heather joined the GP team in 2006 with a focus on client relations and day to day office matters. In 2008, she was promoted to office manager where she enjoyed working closely with project managers and clients to perform all aspects of accounting, job costing and office assistance. With her 15+ years in the construction industry, she brings new life and experience to the marketing department at GP and is happily working part time to be able to focus on her three daughters.

In 2015, she received her B.S. from the University of Oklahoma in Communications.  With her education and experience, her position as project coordinator has been a seamless transition.  She has rebuilt the service work program to run more efficiently for our clients and brings her organizational skills to assist all of her team members every day. Ashley has been tasked with our website and social media updates and has enjoyed finding relevant posts and information to share.  Away from her work life, Ashley spends her time traveling and snowboarding.

With over 25 years in the construction industry, Steve has worked his way up from Site Supervisor to Project Manager.  As a result, he carries an incomparable in-depth knowledge of the ins and outs of a variety of commercial construction projects with a focus on the Dental and Veterinary division of the company.  Steve works diligently and has been awarded hundreds of projects through his dedication to getting his clients the best value for their money.  He has a passion for the construction process and through his experience and understanding has the ability to respect budgets, personalize the value engineering method and organize the project to benefit his clients.  In his free time, Steve enjoys fishing and skiing.

Hector joined the GP team in 2006 as a carpenter.  With his previous construction experience of 10+ years, he worked hard at GP and was promoted to Site Supervisor in 2008.  GP relies on Hector to provide exceptional customer service to his clients, supreme problem solving skills to his subcontractors and knowledgeable input to his team members. Hector has ran hundreds of successful projects to date including the several Hearing Med Facilities throughout California, Planet Fitness and many State of California projects.  In 2016, he was promoted to a Project Manager. As Project Manager, he likes  the ability to manage projects from beginning budgeting to occupancy. He is enjoying the challenge of his new position and looks forward to more and more specialized build outs.  In his free time, Hector and his wife enjoy watching their children participate in a variety of sports and extracurricular activities.

Austin started with GP Development in 2004 with a position in the painting department. He has since been promoted to Construction Manager and has been utilizing his over 13 years of construction experience to oversee some of the company’s largest and most complex projects. His most notable projects include pharmaceutical buildings/laboratories, dental offices, medical offices, hazardous material storage facilities and structural retrofits.  Austin enjoys the many challenging aspects of the construction industry and strives to complete each project with the best possible outcome. During his free time, Austin enjoys fishing with his wife and boys.

Doug Hicks

Doug brought his 29+ years of construction knowledge to GP in 2013 as a Construction Manager. He is able to utilize his education and OSHA certification on his job sites to ensure all safety standards are in place and the work space is well maintained. Doug has been working alongside his team members in the medical facility division using his skills and being able to adhere to tight deadlines, maintain budget constraints and keep to essential schedules. To date, his most notable projects include Department of Health and Human Services and several medical facilities. Doug is known to be dedicated to his craft, highly organized and motivated to get the job done right the first time around. On weekends, Doug enjoys quality time with his son and wife.

Tim has been a part of the GP team since 2004. In his 27 years of construction experience, he has worked his way through the ranks from a framer to a Site Superintendent and has extensive knowledge in all aspects of the building process. As one of GP’s premier Construction Managers, Tim’s job portfolio includes Pinnacle College, National Career Education and Exam Works in Rancho Cordova. Tim is known to be easy to work with and a good leader. His dedication to quality shows in his projects and his clients appreciate his ability to stay on schedule and on budget. Tim likes outdoor activities and family time on the weekends.

Juan Mendoza

Juan joined the GP team as a carpenter in 2011. Through his hard work and supreme problem solving skills, Juan was promoted to a Site Superintendent in 2013. He uses his 22+ years of extensive construction experience to work alongside various subcontractors to complete his tenant improvement projects.  His real life construction experience has given him the tools to manage and perform hands on labor to complete any tenant improvement, no matter how large and small. Included in Juan’s project portfolio are hundreds of successfully completed projects including trade schools, broker offices and occupied multilevel office buildings. His effective use of time sets him apart and his team members rely on his excellent work ethic to get the job done quickly and efficiently.  Juan enjoys his wife and children’s many extracurricular activities on the weekends.

Bob has brought his over 14+ years of construction experience and knowledge to the GP team. He uses his extensive understanding of the construction industry to assist his team members every day in producing successful projects. He is able to effectively manage several subcontractors with tight deadlines, encourage his team to hold to his strict building standards and successfully communicate with clients on all aspects of their project. Bob has completed countless tenant improvement projects and can be relied upon to continue being a knowledgeable expert in his field. On weekends, Bob and his wife enjoy camping, hunting and fishing with their two daughters.
